Washington, DC is the heart of the District, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area. Being the capital of the United States, Washington, DC is filled with many historical monuments. Check out some of these well-known locations such as United States Capitol Building, the White House, the famous Lincoln Memorial, and of course the Washinton Monument. Washington, DC is famous for all of the historic attractions but also has some gems outside of downtown such as the National Harbor and the Great Falls National Park. DC is also the home of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival on the National Mall where more than a million people travel from all over the world to see these flowers in full bloom.
